Narrative - closed or open, matters not.
Finally gathering all the kids, and loading thme into two of the hummers, Xi'an placed three rather large picnic baskets in back, full of lunch time treats. Hands sliding into the pockets of her jeans, she smiled as the volunteers wandered into the garage, clutching their coffee like their lives depended on it. She was used to waking up early, and being bright eyed for everyone elses sake.
Pulling her sweater tight around her, she moved to slid into the drivers seat of the first car, glancing in the rear view to see one of the other adults get into the other. Smiling back at the kids, she looked forward, hit the garage door opener and started the car. Windows rolled down (there was no reason to waste the fresh almost autumn air), they were on their way to the city.
A trip to the park was perfect. For kids and adults alike. The children would get to burn off all of their energy, get some excercise - essentially ware them out for the day. The grown ups get to get out of the house, pretend to be normal for a little bit while they enjoy the outdoors, and people watching. All in all, Xi'an knew they were in for an eventful day. Though, it'd be more eventful than she oculd probably imagine.
